After Dark Candle - Summer Limited Edition

The sun has gone down for the day. You have a warm tingle on your skin. Time’s not relevant anymore. You’re in a dark bar, down a narrow ancient, brick alleyway. There’s a band playing in the background and you have no idea what this drink is called or how to get back to your hotel.

We have all been there, is a holiday really a holiday without a late-night or too. You meet great people, discover new drinks and listen to some great music. This scent is a love letter to those moments. 

If you were a fan of our scent "Midnight Down in Oliver's Bar", you may recognise some notes here. This is Oliver's Bar summer cousin. Dark, rich and intoxicating but with light citrus & warmth of a relaxing summer's eve. 

Head Notes 

This scent starts with the rich and woody wild-grown Patchouli and gives you a musky-earthy scent with a rich floral heart. Joined by the bright sweet scent of Italian Bergamot.

Heart Notes 

In the heat for this fragrance, you have a bitter, woody, herbaceous undertone that comes from wild-harvested Paraguayan Petitgrain oil, derived from the bark of a bitter orange tree. This helps balance the floralness of the Patchouli and also backs up the light citrusness of the Bergamot. 

Footnote 

The fragrance sits on steam-distilled Benzoin from the gum Benjamin tree, native to Indonesia. Its aroma is a treat for the senses, with notes of vanilla and hints of cinnamon with a glimmer of a balsamic undertone. Benzoin pairs nicely with the earthy, woody, piney, balsamic and soft, sweet, and citrusy fresh fieriness of its cousin Frankincense, a proven psychoactive antidepressant. This joins the deep woody scent of Sandalwood with its smoky mix of floral, rich, balsamic, soft, and sweet accents.
